Cancel a Reservation of Name

If you have filed a name reservation application with the Registraire des entreprises, you can request that the name reservation be cancelled within 90 days of the date of the confirmation of the reservation. If the reserved name is not used within that period of time, the reservation automatically expires.

To request the cancellation of a name reservation, you can use the Annuler une réservation de nom online service. You may also send a letter to the Registraire des entreprises containing the following information:

• the reference number of the name reservation;
• the name covered by the reservation;
• the name of the contact person (the applicant).

You will need the reference number of the name reservation application. The Registraire des entreprises does not issue any refunds further to a cancellation of a processed name reservation application.
