Regulations Concerning the Use of Trademarks in Public Signage: Forthcoming Changes
Changes in the regulations concerning the use of trademarks in public signage in Québec will soon be brought into force.
These new regulatory provisions are designed to enhance the presence of French in public signage, since enterprises doing business in Québec are required to use French.
To help our clientele better understand these changes involving the Charter of the French Language, we invite you to refer to the bulletin recently published by the Office québécois de la langue française concerning the use of trademarks in public signage and the obligations of enterprises.
To learn more about the use of trademarks in Québec, you can also consult the document Les noms d’entreprises au Québec (IN-531), which explains the rules for creating and using enterprise names in Québec.
We thank you for your cooperation, which helps us maintain the quality of the information contained in the enterprise register.
