Constituting a legal person
Contact one of the two Services Québec offices that provide services related to the enterprise register to incorporate a business corporation or a non-profit legal person, and to request the modification of your articles of incorporation or your letters patent.

Reviving a dissolved Québec legal person
The enterprise Registrar may, at the request of any interested person and according to the conditions that the registrar determines, revive a dissolved corporation. It may also revive as a corporation governed by the Business Corporations Act a company subject to the Companies Act that was dissolved or liquidated voluntarily or by operation of the law.

Continuance of legal persons
Continuance means that an enterprise pursues its existence or life cycle under another legal system.
The Business Corporations Act makes provision for two types of continuance, i.e. under its own law and pursuant to a law of a jurisdiction other than Québec.

Registering enterprises in the enterprise register
The enterprise Registrar is a public officer appointed by the Minister of Revenue to administer the Act respecting the legal publicity of enterprises that governs legal persons, general partnerships and sole proprietorships operating in Québec. The enterprise registrar has concluded agreements withServices Québec to delegate to the latter the authority to register natural persons, corporations and groups. However, the enterprise registrar alone is authorized to register legal persons.

Updating information in the enterprise register
The enterprise Registrar maintains a register of enterprises that do business in Québec and must carry out various administrative procedures pursuant to the administration of the Act respecting the legal publicity of enterprises and the Business Corporations Act.

Consulting enterprise files
You can access free of charge at any time the enterprise files in the enterprise register on the enterprise registrar’s website.
You can also meet with qualified staff who will assist you in your searches at either of the Services Québec offices that provide services related to the enterprise register.
Reservation of name
Anyone can request a reservation of name, in particular to amalgamate, continue, constitute or revive a business corporation in Québec, to modify the name of a corporation already incorporated, and to constitute or modify a Québec legal person.
This service allows users to ensure that the name is available and to reserve it for a period of 90 days, as the case may be. A name search report is produced after a name search, then placed in the enterprise’s file. Moreover, the reservation of name is indicated in the enterprise register.
A reservation number is assigned at the conclusion of the transaction. The name reserved may be used (by means of the reservation number) as the name when an application for incorporation is submitted or when the modification of a legal person is requested.

Reproduction and issuing of documents
Obtain information on existing enterprises or request attestations or certificates of compliance or conformity.
You can request documents online, in person at one of our offices, or by telephone, fax or mail.
The forms to be completed to incorporate a business corporation or a non-profit legal person or to register any type of enterprise are available online.
You can also obtain these forms by mail or by telephone.
Compilation of information
You can obtain, for a fee, a compilation of information that satisfies your specific needs, or ask the staff in either of the Services Québec offices that provide services related to the enterprise register to compile the information for you (additional fees apply, where applicable).
Request an attestation for an enterprise’s file
An attestation is a certificate confirming that the enterprise sought has completely fulfilled its obligations to the enterprise registrar.
You can request an attestation for an enterprise’s file online, in person at a Services Québec office, or by telephone, fax or mail (certain fees apply).
My Office
Any enterprise can access “My Office” by means of its clicSÉQUR express identifier. This reserved space contains all of the information pertaining to the enterprise and the services available to it. Help balloons also display to remind the enterprise of its obligations.
